Liebster Award

I got nominated by Peach Cordial for the Liebster Award a while ago! How lovely, go visit her blog NOW, it's a great read, and will give you good ideas on what to check out around Sydney.

What is the Liebster award, you say? I nabbed this sentence from her blog, so I hope she doesn't mind!

" Liebster is a German word that means dearest, and this award is given to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers who you think deserves more recognition."

The rules of the Liebster award are:
- List 11 random facts about yourself
- Answer the 11 questions which are given to you by your nominator
- Ask 11 new questions for all the bloggers that you nominate to win the award
- Nominate 9 bloggers with less then 200 followers to win the award
- Go to each of the blogger's pages to let them know about their nomination
- Thank the blogger who nominated you by mentioning them and link back to their blog

Let's get cracking!

Yeah, I tried to do a fancy picture.

Put the volume up! | Products for bigger hair

I stayed over at my mum's for Mother's Day recently and didn't bring any of my usual hair care stuff with me.
(Did you all have a good Mother's Day? My mum really wanted to go to the Star for their eat all you can seafood thing. I ate so much smoked salmon that I really can't... oh gross.)

So after I showered, I did my usual "blow dry my hair upside down" thing, but when I looked into the mirror, I thought, "woah my hair still looks so... flat."

I guess the stuff that I use makes a difference, after all!

So, I thought I would let you all know what works for me!

Hitting Bottom! | Product Empties #1

Here are a couple of products I've hit bottom on/used up recently. I think I'll keep these posts short, to 4-5 products at a time. Firstly, so these posts aren't a massive block of text and also, so I don't have to keep empty containers around for too long.

I've used up a whole lot more but these are the ones that I want to tell you about! (Because honestly, I doubt you care about some cheap Big W bath set I got for Christmas.)

Midweek Mani Mayhem | Easing into gradients & accents

I noticed there was a Monday Manicure hashtag on Twitter, and thought I'd be different and do a Midweek Mani instead. I'm so original, you guizzz.

I saw a mani recently, where their accent nails were their index and middle finger. I always did my thumbs and ring fingers as the accent, so I thought I'd try it out and see if I like it. While I was at it, I thought I'd do a gradient on my ring and pinky, too.

From left to right - Essie Da Bush with Revlon Graceful on tips, Femme Fatale Cosmetics Librarian's Shush
To be honest, I'm not really sure if I like my accent nails being the index and middle!

I do like the gradient. It's so subtle, you can't tell how horribly inexperienced I am with the technique. It's really easy to do, but needs some practice. The Nailasaurus has some amazing ones, and she has a great tutorial on how to do it, too! I used Essie - Da Bush as a base and dabbed Revlon - Graceful on the tips.

The index and middle finger are an indie polish, Librarian's Shush by Femme Fatale, which has a lovely formula, making it very easy to apply. No dabbing occurred here! If you live in Australia, you can purchase it from their website, otherwise, they have a range of international stockists.

Do you do accent nails?
Do you like it or find it funny?
